Abstract

The topical intranasal corticosteroids have proved to be extremely valuable in the management of several types of rhinitis. Patients who show a clear indication for their use appear to be relatively free of major side effects with the recommended
dosages.
Budesonide is a topical corticosteroid widely used in rhinitis and bronchial asthma. Allergic contact dermatitis from budesonide was first described in 1980 in a patient being treated topically for psoriasis. Later, in 1986, a case of contact
allergy to
budesonide in a nasal spray was reported. The case reports of contact dermatitis from budesonide have increased in recent years due to the increment of that medication.
Now, we have experienced one case of contact allergy to topical budesonide in nasal spray.
